Augustus Nweke is a British artist of Nigerian origin. born in the mid-Western part of Nigeria, the present-day Delta State. Raised up in a rich cultural background by parents who are Western-educated. He got exposed to art and politics at an early stage in life through his father, an alumnus of the Temple University Pennsylvania USA and a former lecturer at the Delta State University. As a student activist, he was opposed to the then military rule in Nigeria. He left Nigeria for Germany and then to the United Kingdom where he naturalized as a British citizen.
He has been involved in group and solo exhibitions in Nigeria, Germany and the United Kingdom. His works can be found in some private collections in Nigeria, Germany and the United Kingdom.
